Amazon FBA Discord Alerts: My Private Sourcing System

July 10, 20269 min read

If you're spending two or three hours a day sourcing and still walking away with nothing, something in your process needs to change. This post covers how I built my own private system for amazon FBA discord alerts, so A2A, DealWatch and Spy Search all land in one server built just for me and my team, instead of me sitting at a desk hunting all day.

A private Discord server connected to ProfitPath pipes A2A, DealWatch and Spy Search alerts straight to your phone or computer, so deals come to you instead of you hunting for them. Setting it up takes under five minutes. Once it's running, a simple four step framework lets you decide whether a product is worth your time in under ten seconds. Last month this system alone helped find over 700 new products.

The problem with sourcing scattered across tabs

Most sellers are working across a lead group in one tab, a sourcing tool in another, and maybe a spreadsheet somewhere else. None of it talks to each other. And the lead group problem never goes away. I've watched listings go from 10 sellers to over 200 in a week. The price gets smashed and everyone loses.

Lead groups show you what someone else has already found. A private alert system shows you only what matches your own criteria.

A single private Discord server with one channel per alert type. Nobody else sees these pings.

Building your own private Discord alert system

What I built instead is a single private Discord server. My server, my parameters, my categories, my alerts. Nobody else's noise. Inside it, every alert type from ProfitPath has its own channel:

  • Multiple A2A channels, hunting cross market flips around the clock

  • Multiple DealWatch channels, watching ASIN specific products on autopilot

  • A Spy Search channel, tracking the sellers I've chosen to follow

Everything lands in one place, organised and completely private. This is the alert hub. Deals come to you all day long.

Setting up the server takes under 5 minutes

I expected this part to be complicated. It isn't. Here's the whole process:

  1. Open Discord and click Add Server

  2. Choose Create My Own, then For Me and My Friends

  3. Name your server and click Create

  4. Go back into ProfitPath and click the button to connect your server (or go to Integrations if it doesn't appear automatically)

  5. Follow the steps to link it

That's it. A few buttons and your alert bot system is live for you and your team.

Setting up the server itself takes a handful of clicks before connecting it to ProfitPath.

Building something like this from scratch, with developers, would realistically cost ten to fifteen thousand pounds plus ongoing maintenance. Here it comes included inside one ProfitPath subscription.

The four step framework for saying no fast

Once alerts start landing, you don't have time to overthink each one. The whole point of this system is speed, and speed means having a process for saying no quickly so you can spend more time on the products that are actually worth it.

Step 1: Check the Keepa chart. Look for a consistent price history. A stable price, or one trending up over time, means you can trust your projected selling price. If the chart is all over the place, move on immediately.

Step 2: Check the brand and the price. A random looking brand name is often a sign of private label. If the price looks like an obvious error (a product that normally sells for £90 priced at £3, for example), skip the rest of the checks and act fast before it gets fixed or sells out.

Step 3: Check the profit section. Margin, sales volume, variations and offer count. A single offer count on an unfamiliar brand is usually a red flag. If anything doesn't stack up here, it's a no.

Step 4: Only now go to the Amazon listing for a deeper check. First, check the brand name in the title against the brand name on the store. If they don't match, that's a red flag worth paying attention to before you go any further. Next, check the star rating. You want four stars or above. Below four means higher return rates, and that eats into your margin fast. The number of reviews doesn't matter here, just the rating. Now go back into the numbers. Confirm the margin and sales figures still hold up on the live listing. Check the competition: how many sellers are on the listing and how many are actually in your target price range? A high offer count means nothing if half of them are priced way above where you'd be selling. Scroll through for any alerts or restrictions. Dangerous goods flags, hazmat warnings, gating notices (things like batteries, aerosols, or restricted categories) and you move on immediately. Check the Buy Box statistics. If Amazon is on the listing and holding the Buy Box more than 80% of the time, I start to question it. Above 90% and I generally walk away. You're not going to get a fair share of sales. Check the variations. If the product you're sourcing is one variant of fifteen, make sure the sales volume from Step 3 isn't being spread thin across all of them. Then finish on the Keepa chart. Go back and confirm the price history is still telling the same story it was in Step 1. If anything looks off, trust that instinct and move on.

Run through all of this and it still takes under ten seconds once you know what you're looking for. Last month this exact framework helped find over 700 profitable products.

A real deal, from the Discord, on a phone

So this isn't theory. Here's a deal that came through the system. A product priced at €39.99 in Italy, selling in the UK for £94.99, working out to roughly £32.26 profit per unit. The listing has three variations and 100 confirmed sales a month on this variation alone.

The process from notification to order took under a minute. Open the ping in Discord, run the four steps, check ProfitPath confirms the sale and availability, then buy directly from a phone using a separate browser already logged into the relevant Amazon account. No switching tabs, no waiting to get back to a desk.

Why this matters more once you have a team

Every VA or team member can be added to the same Discord server. They see the same alerts, run the same four step framework, and flag the ones worth a closer look. That means deals are being evaluated and bought even when you're doing something else entirely. The business keeps moving without anyone glued to a desk all day.

One thing worth being honest about: ProfitPath is not the cheapest sourcing tool on the market. There are cheaper options out there, but in my experience they do half the job. You end up paying for two or three separate tools to cover what ProfitPath handles in one subscription, and none of them talk to each other. When you factor that in, the price makes a lot more sense. If you're brand new, there is a learning curve. There's a lot of data, a lot of ways to set things up, and it can feel like a lot to take in at first. That's exactly why I run the AMZ Unleashed Discord. If you're getting started and something isn't clicking, come in and ask. It's free and there are real sellers in there working through the same things.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up a Discord server for Amazon FBA alerts?

Open Discord, click Add Server, choose Create My Own and For Me and My Friends, then name and create the server. Go into ProfitPath, connect the server through the integration button, and your alerts start flowing into dedicated channels. The whole process takes under five minutes.

What is the difference between a lead group and a private Discord alert system?

A lead group shares the same deal with hundreds or thousands of other sellers at once, which is why prices get tanked within days. A private Discord alert system only shows deals that match your own parameters and ASIN list, so the competition on each alert is far lower.

How do you evaluate an Amazon FBA deal quickly?

A simple four step framework works well: check the Keepa price chart for stability, check the brand name and price for red flags or errors, check the profit and margin numbers, and only then go to the Amazon listing for a deeper look. Each full pass takes roughly eight seconds once you're used to it.

Can Amazon FBA sourcing be automated?

Large parts of it can. Tools like A2A search, DealWatch, and Spy Search inside ProfitPath run continuously in the background and only ping you when a product matches your set criteria, removing the need to manually browse stores for hours.

What is ProfitPath used for in Amazon FBA?

ProfitPath is a sourcing platform covering retail arbitrage, online arbitrage, wholesale, A2A, and automated deal alerts in one subscription. For a closer look at how the A2A alerts and DealWatch alerts work specifically, see the earlier posts in this series.

Do I need a team to make a Discord alert system worth setting up?

No. It works just as well for a solo seller buying from a phone between meetings as it does for a team. Adding VAs later is simple since they connect to the same server and run the same four step framework.
